Help Line: A database of social service agencies and congregations offering assistance. We also coordinate distribution of school supplies to those in need, Holiday Food Baskets and toys at Christmas
Children's Haven: Therapeutic Counseling for abused children (referrals made from other social service agencies).
Our Volunteers:
Our volunteers are the heart and soul of the Center. In 2008 they logged an amazing 3,184 hours of service to Kaufman County. Our Center relies on these volunteers to do what we do. Volunteers run the food pantry's day-to-day operations, drive to the North Texas Food Bank, collect food, clothing and household goods for people who have lost their homes. Victim Relief Responders and other volunteers serve regularly to distribute Angel Food once a month. We have faithful office volunteers who assist with Help Line duties and many others who pray for use daily.
A New Volunteer Opportunity...
In January of 2009 we have a new volunteer opportunity. We have entered an aggressive capital campaign. Our goal is to pay-off our new building in five years. We are recruiting 100 people who would be willing to pay 1% of the note payment for the next five years. That amounts to $45 per month, OR $540 per year, OR a total of $2700 for the life of the campaign. That's a cup of coffee a day!
Once the campaign is over, a commemorative brick will be placed in front of the Help Center for each of our one-percenters.
